As you may have already heard, our skin is the mirror of our food. When we practice proper eating, it is healthy and nourished, right? So why not use it to our advantage?
The trick is called beta-carotene and is an antioxidant pigment that protects the skin against the effects of free radicals generated by sun exposure, also helps the skin in the production of melanin, contributing to a golden, healthy and long-lasting tan!
Now that we understand the importance of this pigment, we can turn to the most awaited question: what foods contain it in its composition? They are several and we list some of them here:
Fruits - pineapple, apricot, peach, papaya, papaya, mango, meloa, orange, watermelon and strawberry.
Vegetables - carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, beetroot, tomato, pepper, spinach, chicory, watercress, broccoli and cabbage.
The ideal is to start eating these foods a week before exposure to the solar.
